Founders' Day

Founders' Day 2022

It was incredibly special welcoming all of our students and their families to Founders’ Day 2022, the one event in the year where the whole College gathers in commemorative celebration.  The day provided a wonderful opportunity for our gathered community of students, staff, parents, alumni and friends of St Stithians to affirm and celebrate our collective character and to honour our Founders and One and All who have created the legacy of St Stithians that we cherish today.

The chosen theme for the College this year and for our Founders' Day was ‘Inspired with Purpose. Driven by Passion’ and our Rector, Celeste Gilardi focused on this theme in her Rector's Address, as did our inspiring guest speaker, the Founder of Gift of the Givers, Dr Imtiaz Sooliman who gave an outstanding address.  We assure our community that as soon as the recordings of the days speeches and musical items are ready, they will be posted here and we will share them on our social media pages.

Thank you to the team of people who have planned and organised Founders’ Day 2022 making it the memorable occasion that it was. A great amount of time, effort and enthusiasm went into preparing for the most prominent event in the annual calendar and it did not dissppoint.

Thank you to our Saints Family for joining us back to Baytopp Field for this highlight event on our St Stithians College calendar.  It was certainly a day to remember.

Unveilings, Namings and Special Celebrations - 5 June 2021

The Unveilings of significant St Stithians landmarks and new buildings takes place annually on Founders Day. The unveiling ceremonies present an opportunity to showcase improvements to the school and recognise those who have made meaningful and lasting contributions to our College.

The COVID pandemic has meant that traditional Founders' Day celebrations have not been able to take place in 2020 and 2021.  However, St Stithians College continues to grow improve and reflect on its meaningful places and spaces.  In light of this, a number of unveilings, namings and special celebrations took place on Saturday 5 June 2021 on what would have been Founders' Day.  We take pleasure in sharing the video highlights of this day with our Saints Family.

This year we have placed special emphasis on our Matric Class of 2020.  With this in mind, a special brochure has been created for them from the Founders’ Day event that was pre-recorded and filmed with them on Campus recently.  Our Head Girl, Rutendo Kawelenga and Head Boy, Devon Casey each gave an inspiring address to their fellow Matric students, which gained them both a standing ovation from their peers.  Their speeches can be found on the brochure below.  To download a copy of the Founders’ Day Matric 2020 brochure, please click here

We are incredibly proud of our Matric Class of 2020 and congratulate them on being Stronger, One & All.
