Rector's Message
Welcome ‘One and All’ to our website. St Stithians College is a proudly South African School offering a unique educational model, and a beautiful eco-friendly campus of 105 hectares. It is my privilege to lead this College of seven schools, comprising over two thousand, six hundred students.
We embrace our Methodist ethos and are guided by a values framework richly engrained in this identity. Our Saints Honour code, ’Honour God, Honour Others and Honour Self’, is a daily reminder of our lived-out values.
Our Statement of Strategic Intent, ‘Inspiring Excellence. Making a World of Difference’ talks to our commitment to offering an excellent curriculum ensuring that our students experience a holistic education which is relevant and inspirational. The College places equal focus on a differentiated academic curriculum, a wide range of sporting and cultural activities while still competing at a very high level and maintaining an important focus on community engagement. We aspire to grow leaders and thinkers who are able to make a world of difference.
Our students achieve excellence in their individual areas of gifting. They benefit from the high calibre of staff we are able to attract and our commitment to ongoing staff development. Our parents are engaged, and walk alongside us in the education of their children, thus making their own contribution to their child’s happiness and success.
Our model is unique, in that it offers a co-educational model to our Grade RRR, RR, R, 1 and 2. Our Junior Preparatory is a delight to visit. We then follow a monastic approach, once completing their journey in the Junior Preparatory, the children move into the Boys’ and Girls’ Preparatory (Grade 3-7). After their Preparatory journey is done, they are welcomed into the Boys’ and Girls’ Colleges (Grade 8-12).
During their passage through the College, students visit our sixth school, Kamoka Bush School, just outside Modimolle in the Limpopo province, where they have the privilege of experiencing outdoor education. This holistic approach speaks to the value that we place on developing experiential leadership skills, while developing personal learning and growth.
Thandulwazi Maths and Science Academy is our seventh school, offering four programmes – our iconic Saturday School Programme which improves the learning and teaching of core subjects for Grade 9 to 12 Learners; a Teacher Development Programme that upskills ECD teachers and leaders, a very successful Initial Intern Teacher Training Programme where we take up the responsibility to develop teachers for our country and an Academic Scholarship Programme which provides scholarships to talented FET-phase historically disadvantaged South African students.
St Stithians College is committed to the positive transformation and development of South African society.
We seek to embrace UBUNTU, to be ‘One and All’.
