A tribute to the life of Hugh Huggett

June 03, 2024 | Campus

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Hugh Huggett. Hugh started at St Stithians College in 1969 and retired from Saints in 2001, spending an incredible 33 years as part of the Saints family – and truly much more time than that. Hugh left a great legacy at Saints as an inspirational English teacher, founder of the Saints Singers (which evolved into the Dukes), and great hockey coach after whom a  hockey tournament has been named and much, much more... After retiring from Saints he continued to teach at Vuleka and share his musical brilliance in the Chanticleer Singers choir with Richard Cock.  Click the below link to read the deserved more in depth tribute to Hugh Huggett written by long-time Saints staff member and College Archivist, Dr Mary Reynolds, capturing all that he was, his incredible impact and what Hugh meant to so many: https://www.stithian.com/uploads/files/Hugh_Huggett_St_Stithians_Tribute_.pdf
