A World of Wonder in Grade RRR

June 27, 2025 | Junior Preparatory

Our Grade RRR artists have been busy exploring their creativity through a variety of hands-on art experiences! Using sponge painting on corrugated cardboard, the children created vibrant textures and brought cityscapes to life by building trees and buildings from scrapbooking paper. Their fascination with transport led to imaginative car creations using paper plates, cotton wool and craft materials. As part of their learning about Africa, they painted beautiful maps using soft watercolours.

This term, we also explored the season of winter. After observing the outdoor changes - like bare branches and falling leaves - the children returned to the classroom inspired. Armed with paintbrushes and winter palettes, they each created their own interpretation of a winter tree on a drop sheet spread across the paving. These expressive pieces reflect not only what they saw but what they felt during this seasonal shift.
