Boys’ Preparatory News

On March the 7th 2024 the Boys' Prep Grade Four students embarked on an unforgettable journey through history. In a dazzling display of creativity and insight, they brought to life an array of iconic figures in our Live Wax Museum. Parents were amazed: "It was incredible. St Stithians College Boys’ Preparatory were the proud hosts of the 2024 Central Region Aspirant Heads’ Workshop welcoming delegates from Central, North, and North-East regions.

CROSS CAMPUS ARTS FESTIVAL  The students from both the Girls’ and Boys’ Prep schools experienced another wonderful Cross Campus Arts Festival on Friday 16 February. This day is an opportunity for a great deal of synergy and meaningful connection between the two schools through the exploration of a variety of Creative Arts activities. 

Our Grade Three boys and any boys joining the College for the first time in Grades Four to Seven, were recently capped by their buddies in a special Chapel Service.

The Boys' Prep started the 2024 school year off with a bang on Wednesday 17 January, when we welcomed all our families back for the start of the first term.

It was a wonderful start to the Third Term for our Grade Five students, who had the opportunity to share all the work they have done, with their parents, in a Celebration of Learning on the first Friday of school.

On Wednesday 12 June, the Grade Six Social Sciences students flipped the classroom. Instead of the content being taught and the teacher asking questions, the boys drafted their own questions after being provided with the study material.

In honour of Father's Day, we celebrated all our fathers and the father figures in our community during our Father’s Day Service in the chapel. We had a wonderful record turnout of dads and grandads coming out to support their boys.

Mother's Day was celebrated by the Boys' Prep this year on Thursday 18 May in our beautiful chapel.

At Boys’ Prep, we believe that effective assessment is crucial to inspiring teaching practice. When asked about the value of assessment, one of our teachers put it quite simply. “Assessments help me to establish what I taught, how it was received by my students and what I should do next.”

One of the first rites of passage for a student as he begins his journey at St Stithians Boys’ Prep, is the Capping Ceremony which was recently held in the Chapel.
