St Stithians Boys' Prep proudly hosts Aspirant Heads' Workshop
St Stithians College Boys’ Preparatory were the proud hosts of the 2024 Central Region Aspirant Heads’ Workshop on the 29 February and 1 March. Delegates from Central, North, and North-East regions were invited to participate.
The workshop plays a crucial role in fostering collaboration, sharing of best practices, and providing professional development opportunities, and leadership skills for aspiring school leaders. Various speakers came together to share a diverse exchange of ideas and experiences, enriching the learning environment for all participants. The event encourages a strong network of educators who can support each other in their growth and contribute to the advancement of education.
The workshop's focus on self-awareness, leadership and management skills, instructional leadership, difficult conversations, human resources issues, and insights from the panel of experienced heads, provided attendees with valuable tools and the knowledge necessary for their future roles as school leaders.
Paul Edey, SAHISA Stakeholder Manager, facilitated the workshop supported by the following inspiring speakers, all of whom are Heads of Schools or Departments: Jax Aitchison (Education Incorporated), Gershom Aitchison (Education Incorporated), Jonathan Cook (Thornhill Associates), Lisa Palmer (Kingsmead College), Dr Deon Oerson (St Mary's), Nneamaka Eziukwu (Nova Pioneer), Loredana Borello (Brescia House), Heather Blanckensee (Sacred Heart), our very own Kim Urquhart and Lukhanyiso Msutu), Sanele Majola and David du Toit (St Stithians College).
The closing event provided a relaxed atmosphere for networking and highlighted St Stithians' hospitality and commitment to fostering a supportive educational community.
Overall, the workshop left delegates feeling inspired and equipped with the resources and connections needed to excel in their leadership journey. St Stithians' initiative in hosting this workshop reflects its dedication to excellence in education and its leadership in the educational community.
