Grade Three and New Boy Capping Ceremony

January 31, 2024 | Boys’ Preparatory | Author: Lyn Griessel

One of the rites of passage for boys entering the Boys’ Prep for the first time, is the ringing of the bell in Chapel when they enter for their Capping Ceremony. What a special morning we shared with our Grade Three parents and boys, and new boys in other grades and their parents. This special moment is always shared with the new boy’s Grade Seven buddy, who walks with him down the aisle, and then places his cap on his head in a ceremonial capping after shaking the Head and Deputy Head’s hands. Welcome to all our new families. We know that you will form an integral part of our community, and that your boys will be welcomed into the Boys' Prep brotherhood.
