Boys' Prep Father's Day Chapel Service

July 19, 2023 | Boys’ Preparatory | Author: Lyn Griessel

In honour of Father's Day, we celebrated all our fathers and the father figures in our community during our Father’s Day Service in the chapel. We had a wonderful record turnout of dads and grandads coming out to support their boys.

The service was only able to get under way once boys had all had the chance to locate their dads, the juniors all waving furiously to attract their attention! We were treated to wonderful performances by our orchestra, choirs and The Barons. Our Chatterbox Speakers and FAL students presented poems, speeches and skits which resulted in varying emotions, from laughter through to the odd tear in the eye from the congregation. Our Bucket List Band proved popular as usual with their luminescent sticks and speed of drumming. Our 1st Rugby Team, after having performed so well on the field this season, also stole the show with their adaptation of the All Blacks' famous Haka.

The dads were treated to tea in the Elephant Quad after the service, which was also the time for boys to connect with their fathers - heartwarming scenes to be sure...

Thanks to all the staff and in particular the boys, who worked so hard on this celebration.
