Musical Excellence
Richard Leschner (Grade 12) and Christiaan Theron (Grade 11) recently achieved remarkable success at the prestigious Roedean Music Competition. Richard entered the competition in the Classical Singing category, while Christiaan demonstrated his versatility by competing in both the Piano and Violin categories. The competition was intense, with participants showcasing exceptional talent from across Gauteng. Despite the tough competition, both Richard and Christiaan advanced to the final round.
In the final round, they competed against some of the best young musicians in the region. Richard's impeccable vocal performance earned him the top spot in the Classical Singing category, a well-deserved recognition of his hard work and talent. Christiaan, equally impressive, secured the second runner-up position in the Strings category, demonstrating his outstanding proficiency on the violin.
Their achievements are not only a personal triumph but also a proud moment for St Stithians, highlighting the school's commitment to fostering musical excellence. Richard and Christiaan's success is a result of their relentless practice, passion for music, and the unwavering support of their teachers and families.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Richard and Christiaan for their outstanding achievements and for representing St Stithians with such distinction. Their journey to success was guided by their dedicated teachers, Mrs Linelle Engelbrecht (voice) and Mr Evert van Niekerk (violin), whose expertise and encouragement were instrumental in their students' accomplishments.
We celebrate Richard and Christiaan's achievements and look forward to their future endeavours in music. Their success serves as an inspiration to all our students, reminding us of the heights that can be reached through dedication and hard work.
