Interact Club - Making A World Of Difference

November 05, 2020 | Boys’ College

On Saturday 10 October, 25 of the Boys' College Interact Club members completed a Community Engagement project at Ikamva Youth School in Ivory Park. This school is part of our community engagement in our Boys’ Prep and is very much a part of our St Stithians Boys’ Prep family, who visit and take donations regularly. More recently, the school has been in need of some refurbishment due to wear and tear. They reached out to the Boys’ College, requiring assistance with plumbing work, repainting walls and the building of a new staircase.

Our intrepid group of Interact volunteers arrived at 8am to get started on a long day's work ahead. The main focus for the students included scraping paint, repainting walls, tearing down and rebuilding a wooden staircase. Furthermore, the students handed out food parcels to the community.

It was a strenuous day out in the sun but all the boys enjoyed doing good for the community and getting really dirty in the process. A big thank you goes out to everyone who took the time to come out. Furthermore, thank you to Wrench Plumbing who willingly volunteered to help with all the plumbing needs on the day. Moreover, a big thank you to Kreesan Moodley for helping with the rebuilding of the staircase and watching over the boys for the day.

Thank you One and All for #InspiringExcellence and #MakingAWorldOfDifference
