Boys' College hosts Vuleka School Children for a Christmas Party

The Boys' College recently had the pleasure of hosting the children from Vuleka School at St Martin’s, Rosebank, for a heartwarming annual Christmas party. This event reflects a meaningful partnership, as the Boys' College Grade 9 students actively engage with Vuleka throughout the year via a literacy program that fosters reading, playing, and learning together.

The Christmas party has become a beloved tradition, eagerly anticipated by both the Vuleka children and their teachers. The day was packed with fun and festive activities, including hands-on craft sessions, joyful caroling with the Duke of Cornwall Singers, energetic marimba performances, and a screening of holiday movies. The excitement reached new heights as our drama students led the children in dancing, creating lasting memories of joy and laughter. Santa himself made a surprise appearance, handing out personalized gift packs that brightened every child's face.

A special thank you goes to the Parents' Samaritan Group (PSG) for organizing this festive day and contributing to the gift packs. Our gratitude also extends to Nicholson Stationers, the Junior Prep, and PSG for their generous book donations, which reflect our shared commitment to literacy and learning.

We are especially proud of our Grade 9 boarders for their invaluable help in hosting and ensuring the children felt welcome throughout the day. We would also like to recognize the dedication and hard work of Mrs Schoeman, Mr Sibanda, Ms Makatile, Coach Vipes, Rev Kekana, Mr du Toit, Dr Ayaya, and Mrs McAslin, whose efforts ensured the day ran smoothly from start to finish.

Moments like these remind us of the power of community and the joy of giving. It is through these connections that we create lasting memories and meaningful impact, leaving a positive mark on the lives of everyone involved.
