Fantastic Science Expo Results for Girls 2016

Congratulations to the following 4 girls on their GOLD awards at the recent Science Olympiad:

All 4 girls are through to the final round and will attend the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists International Science Fair (ISF) 2016 that will take place at the Birchwood Hotel and Conference Center from 4-7 October 2016.

Zabanguni Phakathi and Alexia Galatis designed a belt that visually impaired people could use to navigate. They used the motion detectors from cars and fitted them to a belt that is worn around the waist. The girls achieved Gold at the Regional Eskom expo.

Amanda Aitken and Genevieve Robertson manufactured hockey balls out of plastic bags. The balls are completely playable and were tested according to international hockey ball standards. The girls also won Gold at the Regional Eskom expo.
