Santa Shoebox Project

November 11, 2022 | Boys’ College

Community Engagement is one of the Pillars of each Saints student's journey of significance in his years at the College. Our mission is to create multiple ways boys can participate in service work and engage in communities. We believe that students who engage in community projects benefit from the experience in many ways: they learn new skills, develop a good work ethic, leadership skills, empathy, and understanding, and are guided through self-reflection processes as they seek to ‘Know Themself, Be Themself, And Make Their Contribution’.

The Boys' College has been involved with supporting the Santa Shoebox Project for many years as one of the Community Engagement projects available to boys during the year. Boys volunteer their time and pledge shoeboxes to uplift children less fortunate than themselves around the holiday season. This gives them a sense of purpose and the benefit of knowing they have made a child smile at Christmas time as well as supplying much-needed items for the year ahead. It was a privilege dropping off over 120 Santa Shoeboxes from the Boys' College last weekend. Thank you to all families who contributed to this project and encouraged their sons to give their time, effort, and pocket money to brighten the day for another child.
