Parents Bring the World of Stories to Life
We are excited to share that parents have been visiting the classrooms to read stories in a variety of different languages! Our students have had the wonderful opportunity to hear familiar tales and new adventures retold in many tongues, from bedtime favourites to folk tales that have been passed down through generations. The classrooms have been filled with curiosity, laughter and wonder as children listened to the rhythms and sounds of different languages.
This initiative celebrates the rich cultural diversity within our school community and helps children appreciate the beauty of linguistic variety. Hearing stories in multiple languages supports language awareness, strengthens listening skills and encourages curiosity about other cultures. It reminds children that each language carries its own stories, values and ways of seeing the world - and that all are worth celebrating.
We are deeply grateful to our parents for sharing their time, voices and traditions with us. Through this shared experience, our children are learning that storytelling transcends words - it connects hearts, builds empathy and nurtures a love for reading that crosses boundaries. Together, we are showing our students that stories - and the love of reading - truly connect us all.
