Friendship Day in the Junior Prep
This year, Friendship Day in the Junior Prep took place on 13 February and was celebrated with great enthusiasm and heart. Throughout the week, the Wellness Committee thoughtfully planned and organised activities to engage staff and intentionally grow connections in the place where they are currently planted. Nurturing relationships with presence and kindness strengthens our sense of belonging and encourages our community to grow ever stronger. One of the highlights of the week was the opportunity for staff to “twin” with their designated Friendship Week buddy - whether by wearing the same shirt colour, choosing matching stripes or leopard print, or even supporting a favourite team together. Buddies made plans to meet for a special photo opportunity to capture the moment, and it was a joy to witness the conversations and connections unfolding across the campus.
The celebration extended to our children, who arrived at school dressed in vibrant shades of red, pink and white, filling the Junior Prep with colour and cheer. From sparkling accessories to carefully chosen outfits, each child embraced the spirit of the day with excitement and pride. A variety of age-appropriate activities were planned across the different grades, encouraging teamwork, kindness and meaningful conversations about friendship. Classrooms buzzed with laughter as children created cards, shared messages of appreciation and took part in fun friendship-themed tasks. Our much-anticipated cake sale added an extra layer of excitement to the day, with children delighting in choosing delicious treats while supporting a wonderful initiative. It was truly special to see both staff and children celebrating connection, unity and the beautiful gift of belonging.
