Inspiring Voices, Unforgettable Journey
On 9 April 2025, ten excited Boys’ College students, accompanied by Mrs Forman, English Teacher, took off on a journey that would shape perspectives and spark inspiration - to the historic halls of Oxford University, UK, for the Round Square Inspiring Voices Conference.
Before heading to Oxford, the group kicked off their adventure with a whirlwind pre-tour in London, joined by fellow students from the Girls’ College and St Cyprian’s School in Cape Town. The city welcomed them with sunshine and blossoms, the perfect backdrop for discovery and connection.
In just two days, our Saints packed in an unforgettable London experience — standing in awe at the fascinating Natural History Museum, soaking up the energy of Moulin Rouge live on the West End stage, and wandering the city’s charming streets. Photos outside the iconic Buckingham Palace and rounding off the adventure with a visit to the legendary Shakespeare’s Globe — a personal highlight for Mrs Forman, our passionate literature enthusiast.
From London, it was off to Oxford, where the real heart of the trip unfolded. Hosted at the prestigious Queen’s College, the conference saw our young leaders diving headfirst into thought-provoking dialogue and cultural exchange.
At the conference, our students immersed themselves in a range of enriching activities, engaging in Barraza sessions, where they participated peer-led conversations on pressing global issues; delivering powerful and purposeful after-dinner speeches; and tackling rigorous debates that pushed them to challenge their perspectives while learning from the diverse voices of fellow students from around the world.
The conference wasn’t just about speaking, it was about listening, learning, connecting, and growing as globally minded citizens and future changemakers.
From newfound friends around the world to unforgettable memories, the conference was a celebration of youth leadership, global understanding, and the power of inspiring voices.
