Celebrating Creativity and Collaboration

One of the highlights of our 2025 Cultural Calendar was the annual Boys’ College and Boys’ Prep Collaborative Arts & Culture Evening, held in the Boys’ Prep Art Room. The evening brought together students, parents, and staff for a relaxed celebration of creativity and shared artistic expression.

The event featured an impressive display of artworks by our 2025 Matric Class, exhibited alongside imaginative pieces by our Boys’ Prep artists. This collaboration created a meaningful connection between the senior and junior schools, giving students the chance to learn from and be inspired by one another.

The Boys’ College Photography Club also shared a collection of striking images, while the evening’s performances brought great energy to the space. The Barons and The Dukes, The Bucket List Band, and the Shumba and Senior Marimba Bands all performed, filling the room with lively music. A special mention goes to Jonah Ogle for his heartfelt solo performance of Valerie.

Adding to the evening’s theme, James Sinclair and Mvelo Ntuli from the Boys’ Prep delivered thoughtful speeches on “Secrets & Surprises in Art,” tying in beautifully with the ideas explored by the Matric artists in their final examination works.

The Arts & Culture Evening was a genuine reflection of collaboration, creativity, and community. It celebrated the artistic talents of our students across all ages and reminded us of the value of coming together to share and appreciate the arts.

Our thanks to Mrs Lesley Humphrey, Mr Basie Viljoen, Mr Sanele Majola, Mr David du Toit, Ms Yvette Schoeman, Mr Sabelo Ntshingila, Mr Mike Sibanda, Mr David Klassen, Mr Kutlwano Kepadisa, and Mr Michael Matthews, who made this evening possible.
