Boys' College Matric Results 2025

We are delighted to announce that the St Stithians College Class of 2025 has excelled in the IEB’s matriculation examinations. The Independent Examinations Board (IEB) offers a rigorous assessment of the National Senior Certificate curriculum, preparing our students well for tertiary study. We will be highlighting the achievements of our top performers below. We wish also to stress our pride in each matriculant who has done his best. We thank our Saints Family - teachers, parents and community for pulling together with our students to enable them to achieve excellence and make a world of difference.
Our philosophy of learning and teaching promotes an academic culture which seeks to meet and extend the needs and styles of each student, enabling personalised and meaningful learning to take place. We pride ourselves on this approach, which seeks to optimise individual learning across the academic spectrum and includes enrolling a number of students with identified learning needs. We are proud of the top academic achievers, among the best in the country and whose results are documented individually, as well as of each student who has excelled against personal benchmarks.
Matric is the destination of a long journey of learning. We acknowledge the contributions of the teachers at the Preparatory Schools of St Stithians College, as well as those of other Primary Schools which educated this year’s Matric cohort. We pay tribute to the impact of Kamoka Bush School on the lives of our students on their Saints journey.
At this time of focus on the academic gateway of Matric, we affirm our commitment to the education of young people of character, who make an impact as leaders and citizens, shaped by a Methodist ethos. Academic learning is complemented with a diverse and highly successful sporting, cultural, outdoor education and community engagement curriculum.

Message from the Head of School
To the Boys’ College Matric Class of 2025 - A Message from Mr David du Toit about the Matric Results
Dear Matrics

How exciting to have the rest of your life lying ahead of you now that you have completed your school career. I wish you all the very best in your futures, as you go out to follow your dreams, and to leave a positive and lasting impact in the world as good men. I am so proud of every one of you. And I am so proud of our brilliant staff who supported you. We, the Staff, Your Parents, the OSA and the College are so proud of you. You have shot the lights out with these exceptional results, have set a new standard, and have individually achieved your very best. Class of 2025, well done! You have chased Big Dreams, Led with distinction, Served with care and heart, have Grown in curiosity and clarity and purpose, have Lifted and Carried One Another as Brothers, and you leave a Lasting Legacy. In 2025, you indeed strove to show that ‘Right is Right’.
And let me add that today we also celebrate the outstanding results of your sisters at the Girls’ College. I wish to congratulate Dr James as she leaves the College, and Mrs du Plessis, as she assumes the role as Head of the Girls’ College, and their staff. Between the GC and BC, we have achieved the best set of results, collectively, that St Stithians has ever had. This Family of Schools has much to be proud of.
What has stood out about you as a group is that your success in life has been measured by inner fulfillment, by collaboration and support for one another, rather than external validation. Below is a high-level summary of your results as the Boys’ College Class of 2025. For the last time, allow us to validate you externally.
In so many metrics you achieved the best results we have seen at the Boys’ College. You set out, through collaboration and hard work, to continue to raise the high standards set before you and have done just that. I would like to add that, although not specified below, your Further Studies participation and results were also exceptional. What you have done as a group is to show that it is indeed cool for boys to excel in academics. My hope every year is that every boy will achieve his best by the time he leaves school, and I know that you have: whether it is achieving 10 distinctions or a Pass, each one of you has travelled a unique journey and success would look different for each of you. Celebrate with one another, and congratulate one another, rather than compare to one another. Congratulations.
Please take time out as you celebrate your success to thank the people who supported you along the way. My advice is to take the time to send notes or messages, or to find the people who have been there for you, and to simply reiterate your gratitude and love to your Parents (who have loved you, supported and cared for you, and given you the opportunity to attend this excellent school), Your Friends, and to the Teachers and Coaches in your school journey.
I extend my thanks to all who have nurtured, listened, advised and pushed you along the way, in particular our Boys’ College staff whom I am deeply thankful to for their commitment to your growth. Teachers from our Junior Prep and Boys’ Prep, as well as those teachers in other feeder prep schools who have played such important roles in setting you up for your success and will be interested to see how well you have done. I thank them for their impact in your lives.
On your behalf, I also thank the Independent Examination Board, who dealt with queries and issues timeously and efficiently, and ran an examination system of the highest standard. Remember the lessons and values learned at school, as these will serve you well in life. Always Honour Others and God and Yourself; seek good people to share your journey; remain curious, humble and honest, and Do Good at all times. Be great brothers and partners and adults who love, carry, take responsibility, check in and find solutions. May you continue to ‘sing like Siya’ through your lives!
Much is expected of you. Go now and make a World of Difference. What comes next is now up to you, and we wish you every success and much joy and fulfilment in your futures.
Thank you for being a superb group of young men who have brought much happiness to our space. I look forward to hearing of your achievements in life, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
‘And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.’ (1 Corinthians 13)
Warm regards
