Wings for Life World Runner

Kamryn Norton recently ran her charity race for her charity, Spinal Research.  She managed to raise $211 dollars exceeding her target. Kamryn was ranked 14th in the world and 2nd in South Africa and was only 150m away from the winner in her age group category.  The "catcher car" caught up to her at 22.76Km which is a phenomenal achievement.  Well done Kam!

Dramatic Performances

Our Senior Drama students performed at the Arts and Culture Festival held at the Joburg Theatre recently. The performers were adjudicated by seasoned professionals Jaques De Silva and Dorothy Anne Gould. We are extremely proud of the calibre of their work and how they conducted themselves on a professional stage.Congratulations to our only Grade 10 entered into the festival, Rachel Cohen, who was adjudicated alongside Grade 12 and 11 performers and received a commendable B+.

The following performers all received an A for their pieces: in the physical theatre section Rae Attridge, Rhea Gill and Raquel Correia; in the duologue section, Laila Albarudi and Katherine Thompson in Grade 11 and Ngoyi Kalisilira and Rae Attridge in Grade 12; and in the monologue section Robyn Edwards in Grade 12.

And the following performers all received an A+ and I would like to briefly state what Dorothy Anne Gould called their pieces, considering she is one of the most celebrated actresses who trained at the Royal Shakespeare Academy in London and has been working as a professional actress for over 50 years in South Africa and abroad: in the duologue section Zoe-Blu Mottram and Thobile Mthimkhulu, Dorothy called their work mature and effortless; and in the monologue section Hannah Schutte who surprised Dorothy with her unique performance of Lady Macbeth, an impressive achievement and Ngoyi Kalisilira, who Dorothy awarded an A++ (which is not even a category in the festival) because she was so impressed with the power of Ngoyi's performance, which made Dorothy cry. Well done performers!
