Opens

Open girls single sculls- after some hard racing in the heats for the open girls Nicole Masson made it to the B final for the single scull where she placed 5th making her 13 over all in the country.  Tegan Korevaar also had a very tough heat but still managed to make it through the girls A final, where after an absolute cracker of a race Tegan placed 3rd.  Open girls pair- the open girls pair which was raced by Alessandra Gain and Megan Barclay, is a very new event to saints girls rowing. Having rowed this boat for less than 2 weeks these 2 ladies placed 2nd in the B final, putting them 10th overall in the country.  Open girls doubles- Tegan and Saskia Howie placed 6th in this event.  Open girls quad- after an incredibly rocky and tough season, the saints girls first quad rowed the race of their lives yesterday where they placed 3rd in the country – lots of tears and emotions after that one.

Congratulations to all the rowers that took part in SA champs this weekend. It is the biggest rowing event on the continent with some incredibly tough competition and to achieve the results we did is outstanding.
