Grade 10 Girls’ College students return to their Grade R classrooms to share their self-written and illustrated books, inspiring young readers through creativity, connection and the joy of storytelling.

Months of auditions, preparation, practice and perseverance culminated this September when eight students from the Boys' and Girls' College travelled to Cape Town to represent the College at the 2026 National Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championship (NIDPSC).

Across Visual Arts, Music, Drama and Dance, our students shine in wonderfully different ways. Some command a stage. Some fill a room with music. Some tell stories through movement or make an audience laugh. Others work with colour, line, texture and form, creating art that asks us to stop, look and see the world differently.

This Heritage Month, our Girls’ College community has been invited to celebrate these stories and, perhaps more importantly, to listen to them.

History came to life on 23 July as eight Girls’ College students welcomed international delegates from the Round Square International Service Project to Soweto. Through guided tours and thought-provoking Baraza discussions, students connected across cultures while exploring the importance of leadership, service, and responsible global citizenship.

There are conversations that are difficult to have, yet they are the very conversations our country cannot afford to avoid. This year's Mandela Day initiative at St Stithians Girls' College began with one of those conversations. We were reminded that creating a better world does not always begin with extraordinary acts. Sometimes, it begins with listening. Sometimes, it begins with showing up. And sometimes, it simply begins with reminding another person that they are not alone.

It gives us great pleasure to announce the recipients of awards for Term 2, 2026. Congratulations, One and All!

The Girls’ College Matric Dance was held on Saturday 16 May 2026. The theme was A Night in Vegas, and every student arrived looking radiant and ready to celebrate an evening filled with glamour, laughter and lasting memories.

There was something deeply moving about gathering as a Saints community for The Girls’ Journey; an evening that was far more than a presentation to parents.

What makes “Sister Act” particularly meaningful as a girls’ school production is that its message extends beyond the stage itself. At its heart, the musical is a story about sisterhood, belonging, and women uplifting one another — values that resonate deeply within our school environment. Those themes were not only performed under stage lights; they were lived backstage every day throughout the rehearsal process.

We are absolutely thrilled to share that Ntsako Shipalana (Grade 12) and Kenya Simpson (Grade 12) have been selected to represent South Africa at the World Rowing Under 19 Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, this August.

This Grandparents Wellness Day was a beautiful reminder that service is not only about giving, but about connecting. It was a day filled with laughter, movement, music, and love, a celebration of the grandparents who give so much of themselves every day.
