Summa Cum Laude 90% - our Rowing Pair

We are very proud of our two rowers, Jennavieve Williams and Kate Pringle, who rowed together and both achieved a magnificent 90% average for their Matric Exams!  This means that they have been awarded their Summa Cum Laude academic award from the school.

Jennavieve obtained 8 distinctions: Advanced Programme Mathematics, Afrikaans First Additional Language, English Home Language, Information Technology, Life Orientation, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Physical Sciences. She was also our rowing captain and dux scholar in 2017.  Kate also obtained 8 distinctions: Accounting, Advanced Programme Mathematics, English Home Language, isiZulu First Additional Language, Life Orientation, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Physical Sciences. Both girls achieved a result in the top 1% of IEB candidates for Life Sciences!

Jennavieve is off to the University of Pretoria to embark on an Electrical Engineering career and Kate is enrolling at the University of the Witwatersrand to pursue a career in Medicine.

We wish the two top students from the Girls' College all of the best for their next few years of study - you have certainly made us and the whole of the rowing community very proud!
