St Stithians Basketball u16 Tournament 2025
Our signature St Stithians U16 Basketball Tournament took place from 14 - 16 February and it was a massive success. Welcoming anchor sponsor, Absa South Africa has taken the Tournament to new heights delivering players, coaches, managers and spectators a next-level experience. Despite weather challenges, and the unfortunate necessary cancelling of our placement games and Sunday move of venue to Brixton Multipurpose Centre on Sunday to play our Semi-Final, bronze play-off and final games, we were able to celebrate our medal-winners at the end of a weekend of exhilarating basketball action.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to #OneAndAll who contributed to the smooth-running and enjoyment of the tournament. It is truly a team effort and one that results in a weekend of hospitality for our visiting teams and guests, highly competitive and entertaining basketball and just an uplifting weekend watching young athletes doing what they love best.
After three days of intense basketball, we crowned St Benedict’s College as our 2025 Basketball u16 boys’ winners and St Peter’s College as our girls’ winners! It was St John’s College that took silver and St Stithians Boys’ College that took the bronze in the boys’ section. In the Girls' Tournament, It was St Peter’s College that took the top honours with a good win in the final over ISSA who had a great tournament, earning them their well-deserved silver medals. St Stiithians Girls' College u16s took bronze and we are incredibly proud of this team who showed heart, courage and skill during the event.
Across our Boys' and Girls' Tournaments, we welcomed 40 teams from all over South Africa and some from across our borders. We thank these teams for being a part of our tournament and leaving it all out on the courts and congratulate our medalists, all star players and MVPs.
We took great pleasure in welcoming our participants and visitors to this highlight event on our St Stithians College calendar and hope that everyone enjoyed it as much as we did! Until next year...
