Our dedicated parent, teacher team of ambassadors under the guidance of Chair (Megan Rogers) and Vice Chair (Suveer Ramdhani) held a PTA 2019 Induction workshop at the Bryanston Country Club on Saturday morning 16th March.

The morning commenced with two guest speakers, the first, Mike Greef, who shared his experiences having served on several PTA bodies and in his role as Executive of a neighbouring school.  He had many anecdotal moments and wise words to share with the team that really set the tone for the importance of governance and role of the PTA that was then shared by Tumi Matlaila, St Stithians Chair of the Chairs of the PTAs and current head of the BP PTA.

After the expectations of the morning were clearly outlined, the team broke up into three smaller groups to strategise on the 2019 mission and vision for the Girls' College for 2019.  The objective was to come up with action items for 3 intervals during the year that were matrixed into high value easy to attain, high value effort to attain etc. quadrants.  The three focus groups for the day were a) The Learning Journey (academic focus), b) Communication - fundraising and c) Happy Fulfilment (Wellness).

It was an outstanding initiative by a group of parents who really want to serve St Stithians Girls' College with their valuable skills, time and energy, and have the interests of the school and parents and of course our students at heart.
