Grade 2 Superhero Dress Up

June 28, 2019 | Junior Preparatory

The Grade Two children have had a sensational time learning all about Superheroes. They have been working on the Big Question ‘What is your super power?’

They explored all the different Superheroes they know and learnt about new ones as well. The children also discovered that they could be Superheroes and didn’t need the fancy cape and fast cars. Through discussions they realised that they could ‘flex’ their superpowers at school by calling the teacher if their friend was hurt and at home they could demonstrate their ‘heroic powers’ by helping to carry the shopping bags into the house from the car. There were many more creative opportunities discussed by our children as to how they could be a Superhero in their daily life.

On Friday 21 June they had the opportunity to come to school dressed as a Superhero of their choice. Encouragement was given to the children to be creative and come up with new heroes. They were super excited to show off their outfit and explain who they were dressed as to their friends.

Through all of this the children learnt that Hercules was correct when he said ‘A true hero isn’t measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart.’
