100 Days in Grade 1

Recently our 2023 Grade Ones celebrated 100 very busy days of being in Grade One. What a wonderful 100 days it has been. Seeing the progress that these students have made in such a short time is what makes teaching Grade One so rewarding. Half way through the year, these six and seven year olds are already reading, writing, adding and subtracting. Apart from their academic progress, they have also matured so much emotionally and socially.

The Grade Ones had so much fun dressing up for this momentous occasion and St Stithians had the most delightful 100 year olds stomping around the Junior Prep, with their oxygen and walking sticks. These glam grans and gramps put us ‘young ones’ to shame with their exuberance and energy. The day was not only about celebrating 100 days of being in Grade One, but a celebration of how much they have learnt in 100 days.
