Head's message

St Stithians Girls’ College is a school in South Africa that is grounded in the Methodist ethos and our leadership philosophy of Belong, Learn, Lead, Serve. At Girls’ College, we value a diverse community fostering belonging and inclusion, knowing that our humanity is intrinsically linked to one another.

I strongly believe that an ethical and holistic education contributes significantly to shaping a humane society. Education plays a critical role in shaping young women, who approach the world with sensitivity, open-mindedness, and purpose. Education is, therefore, not only defined by the “in-classroom” learning but moments of learning, participating in extracurricular activities, and informal moments of interaction with teachers and peers. I believe that at the heart of our students’ educational journeys, we aim to instill the desire to engage with critical thinking and meaningful self-reflection, so she can know herself, be herself, and make her contribution.

It is our wish that when a St Stithians Girls’ College student leaves Girls’ College, that she will brave the world with curiosity, courage, and empathy to leave a meaningful legacy.
