Water Polo Tournament at Reddam College in Constantia

The St Stithians Girls Water Polo 1st-Team are safely back in Johannesburg after a really good Tour down to Reddam in Cape Town. Saints ended 11th out of the 20 Teams but in all honesty their Team placing doesn't reflect "where they actually deserved to end".  Tournaments are unforgiving so you have to make things count when the chances present themselves!! The experience gained will hopefully be invaluable for the Girls.

What our Final Team Placing doesn't reflect is that this Group of really YOUNG Girls (who have only been together for six weeks) came together as a "unit" fantastically. The Spirit between the Girls is at a massive high which if maintained will be awesome as most of these Girls should remain together for the next three years. The Girls are enjoying their Polo and learning tons, which are extremely important ingredients to future success which I am convinced we are destined for.  On a sad note, this was the last time Natasha Assenmacher would play for her school. Tash has been a fantastic 1st-Team Captain who has led the Girls by example and has been an awesome asset to the Girls College. Thank you Tash for all you have done for our Girls. You will be missed!

Final Tournament Standings: 1-Reddam (who retained their 2014 title), 2-St Mary's (Waverley), 3-Pearson, 4-Durban Girls, 5-Westerford, 6-Reddam 2nds, 7-Herschel, 8-St Peters, 9-Crawford (Lonehill), 10-Roedean, 11-St Stithians, 12-Springfield, 13-DSG, 14-Rustenburg, 15-Reddam Invitational, 16-Rhenish, 17-Pinelands, 18-Wynburg, 19-Eden Invitational, 20-Bloemhof.

This coming week weekend we see the Girls splitting up to participate in the U15 Collegiate Tournament in Port Elizabeth (where we won Bronze in 2014) and the inaugural St Anne's 1st-Team Tournament in KZN.
