Sports Achievers this week

Holly Joubert - GYMNASTICS

Congratulations to Holly who was recently awarded her Central Gauteng Region Senior colours and has been selected to represent the Region at the Gauteng Provincial Competition in Pretoria.

Zoe-Blu Mottram - TRIATHLON

Zoe competed in the Mandela Day Marathon,  she completed the triathlon and was placed 10th overall and 4th lady in junior category. She also did Rockman Triathlon at Heia Safari and she came second in the junior category.

Mrs Rachel Manyathi - EXTREME TRAIL RUNNING

Mrs Manyathi has had an incredible season!  She competed in the Sanlam Cape Town Peace Trail Marathon on Table Mountain and was 2nd lady and 1st in her age category over the 22km challenge.

At the Stanford Lake Stage Racing Wolberg Sky race (meaning running at high altitude) - she ran a total of 60 km 35km on the first day and 25 km on the second day and was placed 2nd in her category.

Mrs Manyathi is training and entering these events specifically to beat her record from last year's Otter trail race.  Usually the Otter Trail takes 7 days to hike - Mrs Manyathi ran this in 6 hours and 45 minutes and then hiked back the next day.  She was 3rd in her category and in the top 10 overall.

She was also interviewed on SABC TV recently with Caroline Wozman (winner of the Comrades Marathon this year) about her amazing achievements.
