EXITING UPDATE....

Wonderful news for our College.  Below is an extract from the INTERNATIONAL ESKOM EXPO FOR YOUNG SCIENTISTS, BIRCHWOOD CONFERENCE CENTRE, BOKSBURG, 6-9 OCTOBER 2015 results sheet.

"JOHANNESBURG REGION REPORT

This year the schools of the Johannesburg Central Region are to be congratulated on extremely successful results at the above Science Fair.  Our participants achieved outstanding results and this report needs to be passed on to all principals so that the participants can be congratulated in their respective schools.

On 1 August of this year, 27 High Schools and 16 Primary Schools entered a total of 289 projects in the Johannesburg Regional Science Fair at WITS University.  From all of the gold medallists, 17 projects were chosen to go through to the International Science Fair, which took place from 6 – 9 October.  There were 479 projects on show at Birchwood, from 33 regions in South Africa, as well as projects from Mexico, Thailand, Swaziland, Lesotho and Namibia."

Our very own GABI FEDETTO and SIMRAN KAUR (currently on exchange in Colombia) WON a Gold medal and the following prizes.

• Category winner R1500
• Eskom Best female project on show – laptop
• R35 000 settlement against a WITS English degree
• R30 000 Stellenbosch bursary
• Invitation to international interview

Simran Kaur and Gabi Fedetto  were awarded Gold at the regional event earlier on in the year.  Their project will be on display in the Girls' College Foyer soon.

We are also proud of our Boys' College entrants:  

Cameron Botha & Calvin Steinhobel who won silver medals and R5000 BMV award as well as Brynn Cauldwell who also won a Silver medal and an invitation to international interview.  Earlier in the year at the Regional Expo our girls received the following certificates:

A Silver certificate was awarded to Kiara Stanek and Victoria Andre

Bronze to Bianca Prinsloo and Amber Grill

and Denise Orege and Robyn Schaap
