IBT - International Bench Marking Test Results - English & Mathematics

In 2018 our Grade 9 students’ sit the International Benchmarking Tests in both English and mathematics. These assessments are administered through the IEB and are designed to test generic skills that underpin the teachings in these subjects. The tests measure individual student performance and provide an opportunity for South African schools to assess their provisioning against international standards which provides valuable learnings. Certificates are awarded to the top 1% of students’ as well as to those who achieve a Higher Distinction or Distinction in either subject.

Congratulations to our 2018 certificate recipients on this significant achievement!

Holocaust Art & Poetry Competition

For the last 20 years Chapman University in California has run an International Holocaust Art and Writing Contest. The Grade 9s from 2018 had to select the testimony of a holocaust survivor and base their prose and poetry on one survivor's experience. We submitted one poem and piece of prose. Veneke Mkombe and Tasmin Lee received certificates of participation in this prestigious contest.
