Rowing @ Saints

ROWING is a wonderful example of how hard work, commitment and dedication create a sense of community and enjoyment for our rowers.  We loved this article by Saskie Howie 2016 Rowing Captain.

"Rowers do more before 8:00am than most people do all day." Up at 5:00 three times a week, home at 19:30 twice a week, endless ergo sessions and training every weekend. Being a rower does not sound appealing to most but being a part of the St Stithians Girls’ Rowing club is the most rewarding part of the endless training. As a girl in the rowing club you become part of a family that is driven by passion and dedication.

The club strives for excellence in each and every girl and offers a platform for girls to achieve to the best of their ability in an environment of support and care. Rowing offers every girl an opportunity to exceed in their age group. As a club we aim for medals at the important regattas such as Gauteng Championships, Boat Race, Buffalo and South African Junior Rowing Championships. The dedicated coaches and girls work together to make this goal a reality through intense training and passion for the sport which in the end make all of the effort and time spent in training worthwhile.

ROWING ACHIEVEMENTS from recent regattas are as follows:
