Inter-Provincial Mathematics Olympiad (IPMO) – Victoria Andre

On Saturday 13 September Victoria Andre participated in the Inter-Provincial Mathematics Olympiad (IPMO).

This is a prestigious annual event attracting the country’s top young mathematicians. Students are selected to participate on the basis of the results of the Second Round of the Harmony Mathematics Olympiad. This is effectively the 3rd and Final round of the Harmony Mathematics Olympiad.

The 3rd round of the Inter-Provincial Competition involves an individual and a team component.

We know that Victoria did well in the individual category but we are still waiting for the official results. In the team section her team placed 2nd in the country with an aggregate score of 90%.

Overall Southern Gauteng was placed 5th out of 48 Provincial teams from around SA, including teams from Swaziland, Botswana and Uganda.

English Olympiad

33 participants in the English Olympiad this year and we are proud to announce that 1/3 of the girls attained silver awards. This is an excellent achievement.
