Junior Prep Carols Evening

November 22, 2019 | Junior Preparatory

Thursday 14 November started off with an air of uncertainty. Everyone was unsure what the weather had in store for the Carols Service that evening. The day before was spent checking the weather apps to see if it would rain and if we might have to postpone. Thursday morning the weather apps were checked every hour and everyone was hopeful that we wouldn’t have to postpone because the children were so excited to showcase all their hard work to their families. They were looking forward to being the centre of attention that evening. All our prayers were answered as the skies cleared for the Junior Prep to have their Carols Evening. The children arrived at school from 17:00 and headed off to the different designated make up areas where the parents were waiting to put the final touches to the children’s faces. When they were done, they headed to their classes to show off to their friends. This year we decided to add a Christmas market where parents and children could have a stall to sell goodies before and after the Carols Service. There was a wide variety of goods on sale, which added to the whole festive mood. The children started heading down before 18:00 to sit in their designated places, giving parents a photo opportunity before the start of the service.

The children sang their hearts out, much to the delight of the audience. The Grade 2 children performed a Choral Verse and each class also had an opportunity to recite a Christmas poem they had learnt. The audience joined in the singing for the finale with jingles and bells ringing and a wonderful air of merriment and celebration. After the Carols Service the children joined their families for a picnic.

It was a truly wonderful evening brought together by a memorable sermon from Pastor Lisa.

We wish all our Saints families a fantastic festive season.
