Musical Theatre - SARAH FALCONER 

Congratulations to G11 Sarah Falconer who received a Distinction from Trinity for her Advanced Certificate in Performing and 95% for the Senior Musical Theatre Group exam.
She will be appearing as the young Fiona in Shrek at the Lyric Theatre

Commerce Olympiads - STEPHANIE FORSON, GRACE ZHAO, KATHRYN DAVIES, SUANRIE NOTHNAGEL

This term, there were also two commerce-themed Olympiads written.  First, there was the Finance and Investment Management Olympiad, which combined topics from Business Studies, Economics, Accounting and Financial Mathematics.  A total of 44 learners from Grade 10 to 12 wrote the paper.  Second, there was the Accounting Olympiad that is offered each year by SAIPA (the South African Institute of Professional Accountants).  Eleven Grade 12 learners wrote this paper.  Out of the 3510 learners who wrote, from over 300 schools in SA, 4 of our girls have progressed to the second round, to be written on 27 July.

Commerce Olympiad 

 


Rowing - TEGAN KOREVAAR & NICOLE MASSON

Tegan Korevaar and her respective crews, rowing for Gauteng, won 3 gold medals and broke 2 course records at the SA Senior National Championships held at Roodeplaat Dam. They broke the course records for the women's 8 and the women's coxless quad and won gold in the Junior Women's U18 coxed quad.

Nicole Masson rowed for the South African Schools Rowing Union at Dorney Lake, Eton College, in the UK. Her quad won their heat and came 6th in the A final. She also raced at the Bedford Regatta.

Equestrian - SARAH SMITH

Sarah had a very successful week during half term competing in the 2016 SA Pony Rider and Junior Championship at Kyalami Park. She competed in two team events representing Gauteng with both teams receiving a second place overall. In the individual events Sarah received three second places in Working Riding, Show Pony and Show Riding Pony. All first and second placed riders then go through to a championship which Sarah and her pony Cleo were placed as Reserve Champion in Working Riding. In the SASA (South African Showing Association) 2016 rider ranking she was awarded a Third place.

Boxing - SASCHA ROBINSON

Sascha Robinson is a Muay Thai practitioner at Fight Fit Militia in Sunninghill. Sascha participated in a white collar boxing tournament on the 25th of June and is proud to announce that she fought against a very experienced opponent and achieved a draw.
