Flying the Saints Flag High in Scotland

December 02, 2015 | Girls’ College

Taryn Rauff in Gr 9 was selected to go on an exchange to Gordonstoun in Scotland to play hockey for their first team.  This was a fabulous opportunity and one we can all be proud of as there were other candidates from Round Square schools from around the world.

We heard from her dad recently, " I thought you may want to know that Taryn is enjoying Gordonstoun and I think it is has been a great experience for her so far. It has not always been easy, as she is in year 12 (Grade 11) and some of the subjects have been quite challenging for her; she has had to do some character building things like spending a week at sea on the school’s sailing yacht and she has life guard canoes on the freezing ocean once a week!  The feedback I have received from her hockey coach is very positive and she seems to be a valued member of their first team (so she is flying the flag high for St Stithians and doing the job she was chosen to do on this exchange)."
