Grade R Welcome Chapel Service

Friday 2 February was a momentous day for our Grade R children and their families. The Grade Rs were officially welcomed into the St Stithians College family, with a bell ringing Chapel service. Each child rang the Chapel bell and walked proudly up the aisle. It was a very special moment of synergy when the Head Girl and Head Boy from the College stood up to address the Grade R children, giving them words of encouragement and welcome. The children were then presented with a Saints Teddy Bear from the Head, Mrs. Harris, as a welcome gift. The Grade R children enthusiastically sang the hymns and songs they had learnt in English, isiZulu, Sesotho and isiXhosa, and even said a prayer in Afrikaans. This service is a significant milestone in the children’s school journey and is a very special day on our calendar.
