Google Award and Web Rangers in Action
Web rangers - Learner Ed Tech Team

Web Rangers with their kit
The Girls' College Learner Ed Tech team, under the leadership of Mrs Ronelle Klinck Staff Ed Tech coach, were invited to attend a workshop organised by Google & alumnus Hayley Owen as well as Wits University. The girls were exposed to online safety tips and how to run a digital campaign. After attending the workshop, the team were identified as Web Rangers. The Web Rangers put their final touches onto their interactive presentation and presented their digital campaign to the school on 1 July. The team presented their digital campaign and exposed the rest of the school to the tips they learned at the workshop.

In addition to the exciting prizes for the school with the best digital campaign, Google had offered a prize to one learner with the best motivational essay. The winner will serve as the ambassador for South Africa’s Web Rangers and visit Google’s head office in America. We are delighted and proud to announce that Nondumiso Shange in Grade 10 has been selected as the winner of the motivational essay. Nondumiso will represent South Africa when she visits the Google offices in America in September this year.
