Term three has seen the departure of a number of our Grade 10 students on international exchange. First to leave were Noa Baker and Emily Weaver who headed off to Mount St Mary’s School in England where they are representing our school as hockey players. This week, they got to meet and train with Holly Hunt (GB Commonwealth hockey gold medallist) and Mirum Pritchard (GB Goalkeeper).

Next to head out were delegation to Colombia. Ashleigh Antoncich, Caitlin Bosman, Cayla Dhaeyere, Mikateko Mathye and Robyn Phipps (not pictured in the photo) are being hosted by Colegio Anglo in Bogota. Here they are on a Spanish language immersion outing to Guatavita with some of our Boys’ College exchange students. The girls are finding Colombian culture very different to South Africa but have enjoyed finding out about the history and politics of South America.

More recently, Nitara Moodley flew to The Athenian School just outside of San Francisco in the USA, pictured here with other international exchange students.

Then two of our students flew too The Daly College, Indore, India: Jaime-Lynne Mathews and Zoe Jackson. They had the delight of experiencing Diwali there and have thoroughly enjoyed meeting with their host families!

Josslin Pronk left South Africa with her exchange buddy, Imogen Tabacco, to attend Woodleigh School in Melbourne. She has reported that she has been able to take new subjects such as Psychology and Domestic Science, and is really enjoying the freedom of the city. We are hoping that Mashadi Maleka will also wing her way to antipodean shores as soon as her visa is processed.
