Girls’ College Matric Results 2022

We are delighted to announce that our 2022 Matrics have excelled in the IEB’s matriculation examinations. The Independent Examinations Board (IEB) offers a rigorous assessment of the National Senior Certificate curriculum, preparing our students well for tertiary study. We will be highlighting the achievements of our top performers below. We wish to stress our pride in each matriculant who has done her best. We thank our teachers, parents, and community for pulling together with our students to enable them to achieve excellence and make a world of difference.
Our philosophy of learning and teaching promotes an academic culture which seeks to meet and extend the needs and styles of each student, enabling personalised and meaningful learning to take place. We pride ourselves on this approach, which seeks to optimise individual learning across the academic spectrum and includes enrolling a number of students with identified barriers to learning. We are proud of the top academic achievers, among the best in the country and whose results are documented individually, as well as of each student who has excelled against personal benchmarks.
Matric is the destination of a long journey of learning. We acknowledge the contributions of the teachers at the Preparatory Schools of St Stithians College, as well as those of other Primary Schools which educated this year’s Matric cohort. We pay tribute to the impact of Kamoka Bush School on the lives of our students on their Saints journey.
At this time of focus on the academic gateway of Matric, we affirm our commitment to the education of young people of character, who make an impact as leaders and citizens, shaped by a Methodist ethos. Academic learning is complemented with a diverse and highly successful sporting, cultural, outdoor education and community engagement curriculum.

Message from the Head of School
To the Girls’ College Matric Class of 2022 - A Message from Dr James about the Matric Results
Dear Matrics

You are a determined group of young women, inspired by a deep purpose and an incredible passion. I am extremely proud of all you have achieved as a collective and, importantly, as individuals. You are creative, innovative, and dynamic young people with exciting futures ahead of you. Today we celebrate your excellent results and academic achievements. Jim Stovall notes that we “need to be aware of what others are doing, applaud their efforts, acknowledge their success, and encourage them in their pursuits. When we all help one another, everybody wins.”
Our greatest joy today is our celebration of the collective, an incredible privilege to hail the contribution each person has played in every one of you finding success. The greatest lesson we can take away from school is that our individual achievements are a culmination of dedication and commitment from a multitude of people. My hope for you as inspiring women is to see value in one another, and to take time to build and encourage people around you. Growth and advancement are directly linked to our relationships with others and our passion to serve and give back.
As a College community, we pay tribute to each individual who has achieved in their own unique way.
In celebrating your achievements today, we pay tribute to One and All who have journeyed alongside you in support, care and encouragement, ensuring your ability to thrive and succeed. We can express collective gratitude to your teachers for their dedication, encouragement and high-quality tuition, together with your families for their unwavering support and belief in you.
This gratitude is extended to the teachers in both the Junior Prep and Girls’ Prep, as well as our feeder primary schools, who nurtured you in your formative years and provided important foundational skills and strengths which too have played a role in your success and achievements today.
I extend congratulations to our brothers across the field and the team at Kamoka Bush School, who have played a role in crafting the unique and holistic learning experience that is synonymous with St Stithians College. I also acknowledge the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) for their fine administration of the examination process and for their support and efficiency in running a fair, valid and reliable high-stakes assessment.
Keep close to your heart our Honour Code. May you continue to let your light shine on all and take up every opportunity to serve and do good unto others. As St Stithians alumnae, much is expected of you.
Once a Saint, always a Saint. May God continue to hold you in the palm of his hand.
Warm wishes
Dr Sally James
