FEDA Plays - Best Writer Award

A special award for Best Writer was presented to Grade 12 learner Retlareng Hlalele at the 2015 Festival of Dramatic Arts (FEDA).

This prestigious competition is held annually at the Johannesburg Theatre and showcases the talent of many of Gauteng’s top performing arts students. Retlareng’s play Virginia was entered into the original works category. It won critical acclaim from the adjudicators who described the production as ‘eloquent and poignant.’ They concluded, ‘hers will be a name we will see in theatre in the future’.
