Changing Guard at St Stithians Girls' College

September 05, 2017 | Girls’ College

After 20 years at St Stithians as a Deputy Head and then 2nd Head of St Stithians Girls' College, Mrs Ivanka Acquisto said farewell to the College to take on the position as Executive Head of St Andrew's School for Girls.

There were many farewell events to mark the occasion of the changing of the guard such as the ringing of the bell tower, farewell chapels.  Two events stood out as significant markers of Mrs Acquisto's legacy.  The unveiling of the magnificent portrait for the school foyer as well as the sculpture of the lioness that graces the gardens as one approaches the Girls' College.  Mrs Acquisto loves art and it was fitting that she was invited back for the unveiling of magnificent sculpture created by Heidi Hadaway.

Dr Sally James took over as the 3rd Head of St Stithians Girls' College at the beginning of term three and in true Saints tradition she got to ring the bell at our bell tower to mark her commencement.  The College surrounded the bell tower and sang "Members".  The new Head Girls (2018) Rutendo Samakande and Chantelle Guise-Brown (Deputy Head) take over from our outstanding outgoing head girls Gabriella Fedetto and Victoria André (2017)
