67 minutes: BP & Kids Haven

The celebration of Mandela Day aims to serve as a global call to action for people to recognise their individual power to make an imprint and help change the world around them for the better; our Preparatory boys acted on this call and made a difference to the boys at Kids Haven.

We keep encouraging our boys to accept that we cannot do everything but we can do something and “BOY” did they do something… Our boys acted and met within their brotherhood group (one boy from each grade with the grade 7 boy collating the interaction and activity) and collectively they wrote messages of hope, empathy and love to a boy from Kids Haven while donating clothing items.

“A BIG thank you to the wonderful learners at St Stithians Boys’ Preparatory for the clothing we received. I was here when the driver arrived with a bakkie and trailer full of clothing. Thank you so much to all who contributed donations to Kids Haven. You truly have made a difference.” – Connie – Kids Haven

Former US president Bill Clinton said the core of Mandela’s example was that “the power of public good does not require public office, just a well-placed heart and a determined mind.

Well done boys, your hearts and actions are well placed towards making a difference in another person’s life.

Thank you to our PTA moms and Mr. Lalla who were instrumental towards making this initiative such a success.
