The St Stithians Chaplains seek to create a holistic, Christ-healed stillness in the school through social and pastoral care, the teaching of evangelistic healing, and prophetic ministry through the formation of relationships. It is through meetings, Life Orientation, Religious Education, on the sports fields and through community service outreach that we continually try to make a world of difference to prophetic issues. We are blessed with vast facilities, and we are conscious of the fact that “to whom much is given, much more is required” (Luke 12:47).

Our mission as a Church school is, therefore, to the members of the school as much as it is to the wider population. St Stithians is not only a Methodist school with a mission to the world, it is also a Methodist school with a mission to its own community. In recognising this mission, it is important to note that an important principle of spreading the Good News is that we witness our beliefs rather than impose them, as this is fundamental to the concept of respect for the dignity and rights of others.

It is an important principle in the teachings of Methodists and the broader community. The College's philosophy on spirituality reflects the SAINTS HONOUR: Honour God, Honour others and Honour self. It is rooted in inclusion and embraces our common humanity, as the Lord taught us to “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” (Luke 6:31), as well as the fundamental principle of love.

The following events are held in the Boys' College to enhance and develop spirituality in our boys, teachers and parents:

  • Our weekly Chapel services continue to be spiritually uplifting
  • We observe the Christian calendar and celebrate some of the events
