Dear Boys’ Prep Family

“Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.”

– Henry Ford

It is with a sense of immense gratitude that I welcome you all to the 2022 academic year. I hope, despite the COVID restrictions, that you have had a wonderful break and that you have managed to spend time safely with family and friends over the festive season.

I would like to take this opportunity to extend a special word of welcome to our new families and the following new staff members: Miss Melissa Gates and Mr Michael Tobo. May your relationship with the Boys' Preparatory and St Stithians College be an enjoyable and meaningful one.

I am aware of the impact that COVID-19 has had on some of our families and would like to express our condolences to all of you who have lost family and friends. I wish all of those within our community who are currently battling the virus, a speedy recovery. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Even though we are again starting our year under COVID regulations, I would like to remind us that this is an exciting time of year, as a new school year presents an opportunity to refocus and for the setting of new goals.

The Boys’ Prep is a fantastic school for many reasons, and I do not doubt that the hard work of the staff and boys, supported by you our parents, will result in another successful year for all in our school community. I ask that you, our parents, join us in encouraging each of our boys to view school as an opportunity to develop his strengths as he works towards his personal goals. We consider it a tremendous responsibility and honour to be part of your son's present and future. We look forward to working with you, and thank you in advance for your support.

As I start my final term as Head in the Boys’ Prep, I am reminded of the words I often share with the boys:

“It’s not how we start. It’s how we finish.”

- Michael Phelps

Know that I am committed to making this my best term at the Boys’ Prep.

Best wishes to all for a happy, productive, and successful school year.

Kind regards,

Mr Jakes Fredericks

Head of School
