Over the past four months, under the guidance of the Boys’ College Movie Makers Club leaders, James Ilsley (grade 12) and Felipe Kirsten (grade 12), the team entered The Independent Mzansi Short film Festival in Pretoria.

The festival screened 78 short films out of 800 submissions from some of the most up-and-coming directors and producers in our country and around the world. Not only was the young filmmakers’ entry, "The Pixie Lowe Story", nominated for the Best Documentary short subject at the festival, but also won in this category at the awards evening.

This is a huge accolade for the Boys’ College Movie Makers and St Stithians College, as it places the now award winning film education program within the Boys’ College Drama Department alongside top film school training programs in the country.

We are extremely proud of all students, staff, sponsors, editors and videographers involved in this fantastic initiative.
