Student Sponsorship Programme (SSP) Annual Awards

At the recent Student Sponsorship Programme (SSP) Annual Awards Evening for 2019 held in Johannesburg, St Stithians Boys’ College continued to show excellence with four of boys receiving awards on the evening. This prestigious ceremony was attended by students and their families, mentors, sponsors, staff, SSP alumni and other esteemed guests, and also included prize-giving for students in the younger grade. The Student Sponsorship Programme (SSP) was founded 20 years ago as a leadership development programme to nurture future leaders for South Africa. In this time, the programme has assisted thousands of students, many of whom are now prominent individuals in the South African business and entertainment worlds.

Shiraaz Abrahams received the Top Mathematics Performer in grade 9, and came second in English and third in Life Sciences. In addition, he was third overall in grade 9. 


Zarret Mills was awarded the Top Performer in English, Mathematics, Life Science and Physical Science in grade 10 as well as the Overall Top Performer in grade 10.


Andile Tshabalala received the award for second place in English in grade 11.


Lesego Sithole was the Top English and Mathematics performer in grade 11 and came second in Physical Science. He was awarded the Top Overall grade 11.


Our mission, purpose and passion at the Boys’ College is to walk the path towards manhood with our boys, and support them as they emerge as “great young men”, ready to serve, lead, contribute and make a difference in our world and in the lives of others. We congratulate them on their continued commitment to academics as well as many other spheres of the Boys’ College - true Saints Knights and authentic young men of sound character.
