Thandulwazi Saturday School Feeding Scheme - Thank You One & All
About a month ago, we reached out through our weekly school newsletters with an appeal for donations to support the Saturday School Feeding Scheme. We had observed that many of the children were arriving at school without having had breakfast and were without any food for the day. It is with immense gratitude that we acknowledge the remarkable efforts of our Thandulwazi Angels Khumo Kekana, Sam Nupen and Senamile Ngiba, who took on the significant responsibility of coordinating this scheme. To say that we are exceptionally grateful to them would be an understatement. They has displayed true servant leadership, going above and beyond to ensure that all the children are well-fed and provided with something to drink.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire Saints Community for your thoughtful and generous contributions. The response from families across all five schools on our campus has been truly remarkable. Thanks to your generosity, we now have sufficient funds to cover all the food expenses for the Saturday School and the Teacher Development Programmes' lunches until the end of the year. Without your unwavering support, none of this would have been possible, and you too can rightfully be called Thandulwazi Angels!
The Teacher Development Programme lunches this past weekend were generously donated to the Student-Teachers by the educators at St Stithians College through the "Teachers Support Teachers" initiative. The response from our staff was overwhelming, and we express our gratitude to Peta Hanly and the Community Engagement Committee for their kindness and support.
Typically, on Saturdays, we provide the Saturday School Learners with a sandwich, a cup of juice and every now again a piece of fruit. The sandwiches are painstakingly prepared the day before by students from one of the College schools, parents and/or staff members from various schools or departments. These volunteers willingly devote their own time to ensure that each sandwich is properly packaged in its own bag for hygiene purposes. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all these incredible individuals who have come together to make such a meaningful difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the generous suppliers who have contributed their products, whether it's food, refreshing beverages, disposable cups, or convenient wax paper for our sandwich wraps. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Bryanston Fruit and Veg, Tiger Brands, and Food Lovers Market for their invaluable support. Your generosity has made a significant difference, and we are truly thankful for your partnership and commitment to our cause.
