Rafting Memories Made

November 16, 2015 | Boys’ Preparatory

Dad and lads activities have had a varied degree of support and buy-in. The initial aim behind these activities was to build relationships between staff, dads and our boys outside of the normal school environment.

The Grade 3 river rafting that took place on Saturday 14 November proved to be a winner in more than one way.

Reports reflect that the discussions in the cars in the trip down all had a common theme of excitement and an anticipation of fun. Breakfast spots on the way were soon filled with our Saints dad and lads fuelling themselves for a day of fun, enjoyment and a hint of trepidation.

The gift of observing a dad and son connect, rowing and laughing together as they collectively experienced a moment away from the normal city/suburban environment in the beauty of nature was indeed a reward.

Whilst photos capture an image for all who view them to enjoy, the true memory created for each of the boys was that time where Dad was fully engaged with his son in “that” moment.
