Melting Pot Competition

Participants stand a chance of winning amazing prizes and this year’s prizes included two nights at AM Lodge, a five star luxury safari lodge in Hoedspruit; a complimentary use of the African Pride Mount Grace House Spa hydrotherapy journey which includes the floatation pool, steam room, outdoor Jacuzzi, reflexology walkway and outdoor rock pool; a voucher from Camelot Spa at Regent Hotel; a hamper from Flower Boss, a defense driving course from Land Rover Waterford & Jaguar; a voucher from Coachman’s Pharmacy; and gifts from Porsche, Sharpeville Lager and Crest Information Systems.

Attendees, to the event, were treated to an excellent variety of different recipes from entrants with interesting names such as “Mary’s Marvellous Chicken”, “Ola Amigos”, “A Windmill of Pot Luck” and “Garden of Vegan”.  

Attendees were also treated to an assortment of amazing food and goods supplied by vendors as well as entertainment from the school’s senior Marimba band and different dance troupes.  Nonkululeko Magi, from AfroKulcha, said, “This is my second time attending the Melting Pot Festival and I’m enjoying the good food and the entertainment.”

Funds raised at this popular, annual event will go towards the upgrade of the Grade 3 and 4 classrooms at the Girls’ Prep and Thandulwazi, a pioneering initiative of St Stithians College that provides educational growth opportunities for students and teachers based in public schools in greater Johannesburg.
